Mobilizing Healthcare Professionals as Community Leaders in the Fight Against Childhood Obesity
NICHQ launches new advocacy tool for healthcare professionals
The National Initiative for Children’s Healthcare Quality (NICHQ) launched the Be Our Voice
campaign in order to engage healthcare professionals to be the voice of children in the fight against childhood obesity, ensuring that this collective voice is heard by legislators who make and enforce the rules and regulations that affect children's health.
As part of the Mobilizing Healthcare Professionals as Community Leaders in the Fight Against Childhood Obesity program, the NICHQ is hoping that healthcare professionals will join the Be Our Voice
Campaign, utilize the advocacy training tools and technical assistance, and make real changes in their communities and in the health of children everywhere.
Mobilizing Healthcare Professionals as Community Leaders in the Fight Against Childhood Obesity is a project of NICHQ, in cooperation with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the California Medical Association Foundation (CMA-Foundation), and the Robert Wood Johnson Center to Prevent Childhood Obesity (CPCO), to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic trend across the nation by training, supporting and providing technical assistance to healthcare professionals in becoming advocates for change within their communities. It is funded through a $3.25 million grant awarded to NICHQ from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).
