About the The Latino Coalition for a Healthy California's monograph on Obesity in Latino Communities

Founded in 1992 by health care providers, consumers and advocates to impact Latino health through enhanced information, policy development and community involvement, the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California is a statewide organization with a specific emphasis on Latino health. LCHC is working through regional networks across California to build advocacy for policies and practices that aim to prevent obesity among Latinos.

The Latino Coalition for a Healthy California released a monograph entitled Obesity in Latino Communities. According to them, "To frame the obesity issue and to guide efforts to improve Latino health, this monograph presents a set of principles and action steps for preventing obesity and overweight among the state’s 11 million Latinos."
