Promoting dental awareness
The Hispanic Dental Association (HDA) is an organization that strives to promote dental and oral health in the Hispanic community. Aware of the rapidly growing population within the Hispanic community, one of their major objectives is to promote oral health in the Hispanic community through improved prevention, treatment, and education.
On the HDA Web site, they provide a number of resources for educators and parents. One in particular is called Sonrisa! This guide, developed for Hispanic Americans, focuses on cavities and gum disease, dental health for children, and finding affordable dental care.
