American Diabetes Association Alert Day
Know your risk
Approximately 24 million adults and children in the United States have diabetes. These numbers are even worse within the Hispanic community who is at an elevated risk of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), one of every five Americans suffers pre-diabetes while 5.7 million do not know they have this chronic disease. Every fourth Tuesday of March, the ADA celebrates Alert Day to promote the Diabetes Risk Test for early detection of type 2 diabetes.
