ANNE ESTEVIS was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from College of the Southwest, Pan American University, and Texas Tech University with degrees in education. She has been a teacher in New Mexico and Texas from elementary school level through graduate school. She has published two books with Arte Público Press: Chicken Foot Farm (2008) and Down Garrapata Road (2003), both for young adults. Presently, she and her husband Francisco live in Edinburg, Texas.
